On the recommendation of a few friends nosotros choose CherryStone equally our FIRST trip! What was going to exist a five twenty-four hours Spring Intermission run, concluded up to be a FULL 9 DAYs due to our Daughter having a dace contest in Virginia Beach and CherryStone beingness closer than our home. We stayed in Site 66 ... which was BEAUTIFUL to wait over the sand dune and see the cargo ships coming in and going out every Morning and dark. Our only complaint is the people in Site 65 ignoring the site lines that are clear on the map. Rule #1 is to "Not be a wiggle" then we gave grace and made information technology a non-issue. Had we needed to park two vehicles in the space, and so it would have go a problem. (Our youngest son joined us for three nights and had to park our second vehicle in the parking lot for the embankment access. No big deal equally it is Bound flavour and the park was non busy. Otherwise he would have had to park near the caf,.) Our BIGGEST complaint at CherryStone is that at that place is no clear site boundaries in the original campground. The newer parts of the campground have improve site lines that brand clear boundaries with either gravel pads or vegetation. At that place are also no Firepits, so campers are immune to start fires wherever on their sites. We choose a previously burned out department and purchased a fire ring from the shop for about $twoscore (not much college than Amazon) It is MUCH cheaper to purchase firewood at the trailers upwards the road. I retrieve it was $7 per armload. Where CherryStone sells woods at $i per piece. Bring cash unless you lot desire to hike to the store and then over past the jumping pillows on the other side of the park for woods. Since information technology was the first of Leap Season, we ended upward with but one other camper on our "island" during the calendar week. Thursday through Sunday seems to be peak camping days. Well planned out activities over the weekend. Peculiarly on Sabbatum. We had new camping neighbors who came in on Thursday nighttime and planned on leaving Saturday morn. They ended up extending to Sunday considering of ALL the things for families to practice on Saturday. Jumping Pillows, Playground, Putt Putt, and the General Store were all well maintained and stocked. I took a shower in the Bathhouse once ... it WAS near the terminate of the cleaning cycle and then there was problems with hair and stuff being in the shower stalls. Withal, the mixer valve merely allowed for the shower to get mildly warm. Discovered that a "RV Shower" was actually warmer than the bathhouse. (Cleaner too) I gauge I am used to Busch Gardens where a bathroom bellboy mops upwards the h2o on the flooring and sinks. It always seemed to be flooded whenever I went in with my daughter. Peradventure Summer staff is able to keep on top of it more. It looked nice and modern, merely I think the colder shower and water puddles were a plough off. I will be honest and say that there were a few groups of campers that did not tend to their children. I grouping had pre-teens at the Jumping Pillows that were using "non-family unit advisable" language. I work in pedagogy and then I used my "instructor vocalism" when I hear a few option words come up out of one of the kiddos. After two groups of parents thanked me and said that they had reported it to staff the twenty-four hour period before and it wasn't really handled. Anybody deserves chances, merely information technology was clear that these kids needed better supervision. Would have been nice to have more than rounds from staff members at public/rec areas. The 2nd grouping was a family staying in the cabins near the jumping pillows. They forced the older siblings to take the toddler/pre-schooler along. Both times crossing the street the small child ran out into traffic. I honestly felt more than sorry for the older sibling that was no more than elementary school aged. I'one thousand hopeful that Summertime flavor provides more than staffing that tin can be placed to monitor these types of situations. Information technology's kind of similar working in instruction ... titles seem to go a better response. If CheeryStone had staff members speaking to parents virtually the need for supervision, information technology would perhaps become over much better than another military camp family.

We stay in this campground several times a yr. Nosotros dearest information technology. Yous go the beach atmosphere with the belongings being located right on the Chesapeake bay. Multiple piers for fishing and crabbing. We honey that activities such every bit kayaks, paddle boats, swimming, mini golf, water wars, etc are all included in the cost. Kids can bounce from activiity to activity with no worries. Great store, awesome activities planned and themed weekends. Some maintenence needed throughout the campground, but overall facility is awesome!! 3 bathhouses kept clean with scheduled cleanings several times daily. (Although I always seem to be closest to the one being cleaned when nature calls haha). Trash pickup at sites 2 times per mean solar day!!

Arrived two hours before the registration part was to close and establish it locked, if it wasn't for a local individual who lives on site, I would take never noted that my location was changed/that they evacuated the campground the day before and what I should do! Nosotros went to the site which was different than reserved, setup and spent the nighttime. Adjacent morning we walked from the site to the General Shop, nosotros ran into a worker and he advised united states that there was 7" of water over 100 yards from the shore line! On our way up to the Store nosotros had to pass three campground workers and said hello, none replied, and a few feet down the road we were almost run over by one of the employees in their golf cart. Nosotros proceeded to the registration middle to consummate our paperwork, interestingly nosotros plant out that the clerk passed us past @ 505pm on her way out of the campground and that they did not record my cell phone since I was traveling after I brash them of that fact just stated that they called my domicile telephone, leaving a message. No message was left when we returned! The site we were at was scenic at sunrise, but the overwhelming disrespect was non appreciated.

This identify is pretty crawly. Tons of stuff to do. Staff is super nice. Crabbing was the highlight of our 5 days here. Buy chicken necks at the park store. It was like $3 for 6 necks. They have everything you need that you might accept forgotten. They did non take cablevision television. There also is no beach that you will want to "lay out" on. The shores are basically a mix of mud and grass. Fishing piers are great for crabbing. This place was crazy expensive. Nosotros added 1 actress nighttime and the rate was $93. They hit you for actress kids/dog.
